Biography

Professor Martin Tomitsch is Head of the Transdisciplinary School at UTS, which catalyses future-focused, purpose-driven and regenerative change through transdisciplinary learning, research and partnerships. Before joining UTS, he was Head of Design and Director of Innovation at the University of Sydney. He is a founding member of the Media Architecture Institute, the Urban Interfaces Lab, and the Life Centered Design Collective, and author of the books Making Cities Smarter, Design Think Make Break Repeat and Designing Tomorrow. His research uses speculative prototypes to investigate the way new technologies will shape people’s interactions in cities and develops new methods and processes for responsible innovation.
