Selin Sert Yurdakul

Biography

I am a dedicated Internal Medicine Specialist with a robust background in clinical and academic settings, currently pursuing advanced studies in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience. My journey began with an M.D. from Istanbul University, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Bezmialem Vakıf University. With over a decade of medical experience, I am currently serving at Büyükçekmece Mimar Sinan State Hospital, where I manage the Palliative Care Unit and contribute significantly to outpatient care.

My academic pursuits include a Clinical Psychology Master’s Degree from Cyprus Science University and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Bahçeşehir University. My research focuses on the interplay between autonomous nervous system and emotion regulation. I specialize in psychosomatic diseases, exploring the intricate connections between chronic diseases and emotions. My integrated, holistic approach aims to enhance patient care by addressing both physical and emotional health. I am passionate about psychotherapy, having completed extensive training in various modalities including Clinical Hypnosis, Integrative Psychotherapy, and Somatic Experiencing. I regularly present at national and international conferences, sharing insights on trauma, emotional regulation, and holistic approaches to therapy.
