Biography
I am a PhD student at the College of Pharmacy, University of Manitoba. I am working under the supervision of Drs. Christine Leong and Abdullah Al Maruf with a focus on investigating the real-world prescribing patterns of antidepressants in mood, anxiety, and related disorders using the Population Health Data. My research aims to contribute important insights into the current trends in antidepressant use and potentially identify factors affecting drug adherence. I am also investigating the trends in which antidepressants with pharmacogenomics-based prescribing recommendations are dispensed which will help to contribute to more personalized treatment approaches.
With a background in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, I have built a solid foundation in clinical and epidemiological research domains with the help of my undergraduate and graduate supervisor Dr. Mohammad Safiqul Islam. I am also serving as the Director, Research Operations at the Bangladesh Pharmacogenomics Research Network.
Beyond research, I am passionate about teaching and mentorship. I also serve in multiple leadership roles spanning both academia and community, driven by a strong commitment to public health and community well-being.
