Biography

Professor,
Department of Biomedical Science,
Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi, India

My group focuses on bacteriophages and the encoded lytic enzymes as alternatives/adjuncts to antibiotics. We have purified over 200 mycobacteriophages and several mycobacteriophage-derived endolysins as potential therapeutic candidates against Tuberculosis and Non-tuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) infections. We also work on discovering small-molecule inhibitors as drug candidates that target Mur enzymes in M. tuberculosis.
