Biography
Alberto Villar got his degree in Chemistry science at the Faculty Sciences in the University of the Basque Country (Spain) in 2006. He carried out a Masters in Chemical Process Technology and Sustainable Development in 2006. He began in Tekniker research centre in 2007 by a research fellowship focused on spectroscopic sensors for on-line industry sector. In 2009 he carried out a Masters in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology. In 2014 he received his PhD (Cum laude) in the area Chemometrics methods applied to optimization of calibration of Vis-NIR sensor systems for real time fluids monitoring. Currently a member of Surface Chemistry Unit and Nanotechnology, he is an expert in (i) chemometrics methods (multivariate data analysis, Machine Learning) applied to spectroscopic data (IR and Raman); (ii) spectroscopic sensor systems calibration for agrifood, industrial and health applications; (iii) and gas chromatographic methods (i.e Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry). Currently, he has taken part in several research projects related to the development and calibration of sensor systems based on IR/Raman spectroscopy for real time monitoring applications. He has published several papers in conferences and articles in journals with impact index (ISSI).
