Biography
3 years of experience (2017-2019) in building and operating the first 1U-sized Malaysian educational nanosatellite in Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan (Kyutech) for Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia known as UiTMSAT-1.
Kyutech has the distinction of being the No. 1 university in the world in terms of launching small satellites. Learned and experienced the whole 1U nanosatellite development process starting from mission planning, satellites’ in-orbit and re-entry registration to UNOOSA, frequency filing application to the ITU and IARU coordination, hands-on satellite development and testing, space environment testing for both Engineering Model and Flight Model, safety assessment by launch provider, satellite delivery, ground station operation, and satellite disposal.
Technical expertise and system engineering are related to designing deployable antenna using burning mechanisms, antenna radiation pattern testing in an anechoic chamber, and communication verification testing during long-range communication tests. Other related works related to the management of the project involved hardware and components procurement, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) safety assessment documentation for the antenna deployment system, and inventory handling. Built international networking with all BIRDS Project team members from more than 15 countries.
Acquired Ph.D. in Space Engineering International Course (SEIC) from Kyutech, Japan. Ph.D. research study is related to the implementation of an adaptive antenna array for ground station tracking system application for massive LEO CubeSat constellation tracking. Other research is related to the design of the antenna deployment mechanism system for 1U CubeSat.
A full-time space systems engineer at Angkasa-X (a startup Space company in Malaysia) as Head of Mission Administration, Policy, and Compliance; assigned to satellite constellation mission analysis, managing the satellite network filing to the ITU, frequency coordination with other countries, regulatory, and compliance.
