Biography

Associate Professor Dr Samuel Lihan is currently attached to the Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation (IBEC), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, as a Research Fellow since 2019. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST), UNIMAS, teaching in the Resource Biotechnology Programme since 2009. He is currently holding the administrative post as Programme Coordinator for Postgraduate Studies at IBEC. Previously, he was appointed as the Programme Coordinator for the undergraduate Resource Biotechnology Programme at the FRST, UNIMAS from 2011 until 2013. He was then appointed as the Programme Coordinator for the Master of Environmental Science under the SLUSE Programme at the FRST, UNIMAS from 2016 to 2019. Apart from teaching and conducting research, he is a Consultant Microbiologist for some environmental monitoring projects. Throughout his involvement in research and development (R&D), he has authored and co-authored more than 150 research papers published in local and international journals and conferences, symposia and seminars.
