Biography

I am a Plant Pathologist with broad interests in the epidemiology, ecology and evolution of plant pathogens. In particular, my research focus on combining a descriptive approach to study molecular epidemiology of viral diseases in crops, with an exploratory approach to examine evolutionary ecology of viruses that allow us to determine causes and consequences of the host/virus interactions, genetic diversity and evolutionary dynamics of the viral populations. Beyond of this research, an applied approach seeks to facilities the design and implementation of measures for controlling plant diseases.
