Biography

Dr. Edwin Cadena is a geologist-paleontologist with an outstanding background discovering new fossil species including the largest snake ever found (Titanoboa cerrejonensis), as well as understanding the phylogeny and molecular paleontology of turtles. He earned his bachelor degree from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (Colombia), master’s degree at University of Florida (USA), doctoral degree (PhD) at North Carolina State University (USA), and postdoctoral-alumni from the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation of Germany. Currently he is leading the creation of the Earth System Sciences program at the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia
