Dr. Prabath Jayatissa is a highly skilled surgical and orthopaedic/trauma physician, boasting seven years of extensive clinical experience in acute and trauma care settings. He earned his medical degree in 2010, laying a solid foundation for his medical career. In August 2017, Dr. Jayatissa further advanced his expertise by obtaining a master’s degree in Bio-Medical Informatics from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM) at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. His master’s thesis was a significant contribution to the field, focusing on the development of a Master Patient Index tailored to the Sri Lankan healthcare context.

In 2021, Dr. Jayatissa achieved another academic milestone by earning his Doctor of Medicine in Health Informatics from the PGIM of the University of Colombo. His doctoral thesis made substantial contributions to the field of healthcare interoperability, specifically addressing critical standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), HL7 (Health Level Seven), and OMOP (Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership). These standards are pivotal in enhancing the seamless exchange and integration of health information across diverse healthcare systems, thereby improving patient care and clinical outcomes.
