Biography
My long-term research interest is focused at the interface of a comprehensive understanding of infectious disease transmission, host pathogen interaction and how new strategies of persistent infection and emerging or re-emerging pathogens contribute to the human diseases. My earned scholastic training and research experience provided me with an excellent background in numerous biological disciplines including molecular biology, clinical microbiology, vaccine development and molecular diagnostics assays developments including the management and handling of laboratory animals. I completed my UG and PG in science specialized in Biotechnology from Bundelkhand University and Bangalore University respectively. Upon completion, I had conducted research in various domains of animal and human infectious diseases (one health concept) in viewpoint with public health importance from renowned Institutes/Universities in India and abroad. I submitted PhD dissertation in the infectious disease in Division of Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Medicine, Department of Laboratory Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. I also experienced to develop methods for molecular diagnosis of infectious disease and patient care. As a prime research during my PhD dissertation, I found considerable finding in Kala-azar (a neglected tropical disease) research. My finding establishes that goat act as a potential animal reservoir for Kala-azar in endemic settings (research highlighted in national and international news). I have worked and developed various diagnostic assays/preparation for the infectious diseases. Since last 10 years I am actively involved in the application of biotechnology in the various meadows of the biomedical sciences.
