Biography
Back in 1999 I was employed by NIWA to operate NIWA's the remote sensing equipment at Scott Base Antarctica. After two summers in this role I obtained a permanent position at NIWA Lauder in which I was involved with instrument design, operation and data analysis. As part of this job I had to spend 3 weeks a year training the Antarctica New Zealand science technicians in operating NIWA's equipment at Scott Base. As time went on, I also got involved with Atmospheric chemistry models focusing on the future evolution of the Antarctic ozone hole and MIR FTIR measurements and analysis. Currently, I still am involved with NIWA's remote sensing operations at Scott Base and Lauder and my main focus -and passion- now is MIR-FTIR measurements and analysis. I am now also involved with high precision in-situ trace and greenhouse gas measurements.
