Biography
Damiano Zanotto is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ, US), where he directs the Wearable Robotic Systems Laboratory. Prior to Stevens, he worked as an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University (New York City, NY).
Damiano earned his BS (summa cum laude), MS (summa cum laude), and PhD, all from the University of Padua, Italy, in 2005, 2007 and 2011, respectively. He completed his postdoctoral training at University of Delaware (Newark, DE), between 2011 and 2013.
Damiano is a recipient of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (R-AL) Outstanding Associate Editor Award (2023), the NSF CAREER award (2020) and the Columbia University Translational Fellowship (2015). He currently serves in the IEEE-RAS Technical Committee on Mechanisms and Design and in the editorial board of IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L), Wearable Technologies (Cambridge Univ. Press), and Frontiers in Electronics. Damiano holds several patents in the fields of rehabilitation robotics and wearable technology.
