Biography
Yulia Lavitskaya is an assistant professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguo-Didactics at Saint Petersburg State University, Russia. She received her PhD degree in Linguistics from the University of Konstanz, Germany. She continued her professional development and obtained a qualification in teaching Russian as a foreign language at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. She teaches courses in Phonology, Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Second and Third Language Acquisition, Practical English and German languages. Her research interests include second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, English Phonetics and Phonology, Russian Phonetics and Phonology, English as a Foreign Language, Russian as a Foreign Language. She is a collaborator in the project 'Psychophysiological indicators of the perception of imitative words in native and foreign languages'. She has published articles in journals and conference proceedings on Russian phonology and Foreign Language Acquisition.
