Biography
I have a Bachelor’s Public Health from the University of Gondar and a Master's degree in Public Health (specializing in Reproductive and Family Health). I have also received short-term professional and methodological training in the field of Public Health. I have been working at Debre Berhan University, School of Public Health, Ethiopia, as a lecturer, researcher, and leader in different positions. I have served as coordinator of Community Based Education in the Institute of Medicine and Health Science, and as head of the school of public health, at Debre Berhan University. Then, I continued providing courses and advising on thesis works for Master of Public Health students. I have offered Maternal Health, Child Health, Reproductive Health, and Family Planning courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. I won 3 research grants as a principal investigator and another 5 projects as a co-researcher. I have published six articles in peer-reviewed journals and another two papers in conference proceedings. Furthermore, I have worked as a research consultant in more than 30 project evaluations and national action research of governmental and non-governmental organizations. I am experienced in Stata, SPSS, NVivo software, and all Microsoft Offices. I am proficient in the English language. Currently, I am working as an Assistance Professor of Public Health at Debre Berhan University and concentrating on Fertility, Maternal, and Child Health. I can submit proof of educational, teaching, leadership, research, and consultancy experiences upon request.
