Biography

Mohamed Mabrok received a B.Sc. degree in applied mathematics and M.Sc. degree in quantum physics form Suez canal university, Egypt, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Dr. Mabrok received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering/ applied mathematics in 2013 form the University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, Australia. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Mabrok worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the UNSW Canberra in quantum control. In August 2015, he joined Professor Jeff Shamma’s group at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as a postdoctoral fellow. Since 2017, he was appointed as an assistant professor of applied mathematics with the department of mathematics and physics at the Australian university, Kuwait. In 2021, he was appointed as an Associate Professor in the same department. In 2022, Dr. Mabrok joined Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics, College of Arts and Sciences, Qatar University, as an Associate Professor of applied mathematics. Dr. Mabrok’s research focuses on understanding, modeling, and analyzing large-scale dynamical systems to provide a rigorous framework for control system design and optimization tools for real-world applications. Currently, his interests span quantum control, quantum information, as well as robotics and intelligent systems, where dynamical systems and control theoretic tools can be leveraged to develop new analysis tools.
