Biography
Bachelor of Physics graduated from Universidad de Los Andes (ULA) Venezuela (2002-2007), with a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from ULA Venezuela (2014). Professor and researcher of the Department of Physics, ULA Venezuela. Scientific Advisor of the 2nd season of the TV series “Nanouniverso”. Research coordinator of the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú, Arequipa. Professor and researcher of the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú, Arequipa. Research experience focused on the synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles. Synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles (mainly ferrites and chromites) by various chemical methods such as: coprecipitation, sol-gel, autocombustion, and thermal decomposition of organic precursors. With experience studying physical and chemical properties of nanoparticulate materials, by the following techniques: X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Electron Diffraction, Electron Microscopy (TEM and SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM), SQUID Magnetometry, and AC Susceptometry. In addition, experience conducting power absorption studies from self-heating experiments under the application of alternating magnetic fields, in order to determine the efficiency of nanoparticles as heating agents for magnetic hyperthermia. Researcher recognized by the National Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation (ONCTI) of Venezuela, and by the Council of Scientific, Humanistic, Technological and Arts Development (CDCHTA) of the ULA. Advisor of 3 Thesis of the Degree in Physics. Jury member of the Bachelor and Master Thesis. Reviewer of articles in scientific journals. Author of articles published in refereed scientific journals. Speaker at scientific and academic events (national and international).
