Biography

I am a biologist interested in animal ecology and biodiversity conservation. My recent research focused on the trophic ecology of seabirds and fish in addition to their interactions with the marine ecosystem and currently I am studying the impact of migrantory shorebirds in shaping the structure of local communities and ecosystem functioning in intertidal coastal wetlands in Europe and Africa. I participated in several studies involving the GPS tracking mostly of seabirds, but also shorebirds and passerines. Most of my fieldwork has been based in West Africa and involved the support and collaboration of local organizations and communities. I am enthusiastic birdwatcher and bird ringer.
