Tamara (Tammy) Kolda is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA. She earned her Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Maryland at College Park. She was awarded the Householder Postdoctoral Fellowship in Scientific Computing at Oak Ridge National Lab in 1997. She joined Sandia in 1999. She received a 2003 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), was named a Distinguished Scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in 2011 and a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) in 2015.
