Biography

Hsin-wen is an Associate Research Fellow in the Institute of Statistical Science at Academia Sinica. She was an Assistant Research Fellow at Academia Sinica from 2014 to 2023, and received her Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Columbia University in 2014. She has developed statistical methodology for analyzing various types of biomedical data, including functional data such as wearable device data, clinical trial data with time-to-event outcomes, and data from COVID-19 studies. In addition, she increases the impact of her research by developing statistical software packages and writing relevant guides/case studies. Her research interests include empirical likelihood, order-restricted inference, survival analysis, functional data analysis, and statistical software package development.
