Biography
Professor doctor habilitatus in theology. Member of the Warsaw Province of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. Born on January 24, 1962 in Skierbieszów in the family of Wacław and Stanisława, as one of four siblings. He graduated from the Electronic Technical School in Zamość. He joined to the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin in 1981 and he started novitiate in Zakroczym, and made his profession a year later in Nowe Miasto nad Pilica. After studying at the Catholic University of Lublin, he was ordained a priest by St. John Paul II on June 9, 1987 in Lublin. He served as a vocation chaplain, master of postulancy, novice master, spiritual director of seminary and juniorate, and lecturer in seminary and juniorate. For many years he was the rector of the Capuchin Theological Seminary in Lublin and served as a vice-president of the Conference of Rectors of Diocesan and Religious Seminaries in Poland. He served as a definitor and then vicar of the Provincial Vicar of the Warsaw Province of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins. Currently, he works in the parish on Poczekajka, where he is also the director of the Padre Pio Prayer Group and the pastor of the Youth Group. He gave many series of retreats and conferences, as well as lectures and lectures during the days of recollection.
He specializes in the history of moral theology, methodology of moral theology and theology of consecrated life. He promoted 27 doctors and 207 masters and prepared 32 doctoral reviews and 328 master's reviews. He is the author of twenty-seven books and over three hundred scientific articles, eighty entries in encyclopedias, lexicons and dictionaries. Twenty-two books have been published under his supervision, including those belonging to the four publishing series he has initiated. He has written over thirty scientific reviews and over thirty reports. He is also the author of over one hundred popular science articles. He gave lectures in Poland and abroad and organized international and national conferences, gathering crowds of participants. In 1996-2001 he was secretary of the Section of Polish Moral Theologians. In 2005-2008 he was the vice-dean of the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Lublin. In the years 2012-2015 he was the Vice-Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin for Science and Development. He is a member of the Theological Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the 2020-2023 term. He is a chairmen of the Scientific Council of the John Paul II Institute of the Catholic University of Lublin and the chairman of the Association of Moral Theologians in Poland. In the years 2013-2019 he was the chairman of the VI Faculty of Theological Sciences of the Lublin Scientific Society. On the nomination of the Archbishop of Lublin, Stanisław Budzik, in 2012-2016, he was a member of the Priestly Council of the Lublin Archdiocese. In the years 2016-2019 and 2021-2023 he is a member of the Polish Accreditation Committee.
