Biography

Dr. Xi Tianyu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Northeastern University School of Architecture. His main research areas are sustainable architecture, architectural technology, and green living. As the project leader, he has presided over more than 10 national, provincial, and local research vertical projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation Key Project sub-projects and the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund. He has published more than 50 papers and obtained 3 authorized patents. He has participated in the compilation of 5 national standards, industry association standards, and local standards, 2 textbooks (one textbook for the 13th Five-Year Plan), and 1 book (funded by the National Publishing Fund). He has guided more than 10 international and domestic architectural design competitions to win awards. Including the Gu Yu Cup First Prize, AIM Cup Special Prize, and the China Habitat Environment Design Annual Award Bronze Award (2023). He has won the Excellent Teaching Plan Award, Excellent Homework Guide Award, and Excellent Paper Award from the Chinese Higher Education Architecture Teaching Guidance Committee, as well as one second prize (2022) and one first prize (2024) of the Northeastern University Teaching Achievement Award. Professor Xi Tianyu's academic positions include a member of the Green Building and Energy Conservation Professional Committee of the China Urban Science Research Association, a member of the Theoretical Design and Practice Study Group of the Green Building and Energy Conservation Professional Committee of the China Urban Science Research Association, a member of the Healthy Living Professional Committee of the China Architectural Society, and a member of the Rural Living Environment Professional Committee of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association. Member of the Smart Building and Smart City Committee of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association, member of the Green Building Committee of Heilongjiang Province, Secretary-General of the Youth Study Group of the Green Building Committee of Heilongjiang Province, member of the Architecture Professional Evaluation Committee of Liaoning Province, member of the carbon neutrality and New Energy Professional Committee of the Civil Engineering and Architecture Society of Liaoning Province, expert in the expert database of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Liaoning Province, international indoor air. Member of the Quality Association (ISIAQ), member of the Japan Architectural Society (AIJ), member of the Japan Air Hygiene and Engineering Society (SHASE).
