Biography
I am a trained biologist with expertise in terrestrial ecology, in particular plant-soil systems, and have been engaged in projects exploring plant symbioses, biochar, mycorrhizas and soil microorganisms. I got my B. Sc. in Biology at Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina, and pursued a career in Biology in Brazil, where I got a MSc in Ecology, Conservation and Wild Life Management and at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. a PhD in Sciences - Applied Botany. I have worked as a Technical analyst in Health Promotion and Management at Sanitary Surveillance Board, in Santa Catarina state, Brazil (2018-2019), and have held a Postdoctoral researcher position at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. I am a Member of the Editorial board of European Journal of Soil Biology, Frontiers in Microbiology, and PLOS ONE Academic Editor. I have also contributed as a peer reviewer for several Journals since 2008.
In 2022, I was the Academic editor of a Special Issue for Diversity Journal - MDPI).
My research interests are in the area of plants and their symbioses, ecology and restoration, phylogenetic relationship and taxonomy of microorganisms. My work was carried out in natural vegetational types as well as in restored, degraded and agricultural lands. The study of the soil component and biochar amendment is also of major importance in my research.
