Biography
Scientist at the Biopreparedness and Emergence Response Unit, Infectious Diseases Department, National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge, with PhD in Biology and Degree in Biotechnological Engineering. Expertise in Biosafety and Biosecurity; experience in detection of emerging agents used as biological weapons of class A and B and field investigation of human samples, with 17 years of experience. She is responsible for the Biopreparedness BSL-3 laboratory in INSA and participates regularly in quality controls for the detection of highly pathogenic organisms and in the implementation of new approaches. She has long experience on Brucellosis research, human diagnosis, surveillance and control. She has responsible for the laboratorial network of human brucellosis in Portugal and has the ability to adapt to multicultural environments, a good team spirit and a strong sense of responsibility.
