Biography
Currently Paulo is Medical student at UNIARA/SP. Paulo worked as Collaborator Professor on the subject 'Communication Skills' in the PGP Ciências Odontológicas, besides being a researcher of 'Young Talent With Experience Abroad- JTEE/CAPES' at São Paulo State University (UNESP)/Faculdade de Odontologia - Araraquara. Paulo's research focuses on the following areas: Histology, Biotechnology, Biomaterials for Medical and Dental Applications (including marine), in vivo and in vitro Biocompatibility, and Bone and Skin Repair. He was Affiliate Professor at Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)/ Baixada Santista, besides being a FAPESP post-doctoral researcher and his researches were in biotechnological development at Laboratório de Biomateriais e Engenharia Tecidual (LaBETec), Dept. of Biosciences at UNIFESP. Dr. Paulo has around 25 scientific papers published in international journals, several congress presentations and lectures (including nternational ones), and more than 1000 citations in different data bases. He lectures topics in Biotechnology and Scientific Communication and also supervises undergraduate and post-graduate students/researchers. During his FAPEPS post-doc he worked as research fellow in 3B’s Research Group (Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics)/ Portugal with BEPE/FAPESP funding, He has a PhD, with a sandwich period, in Biotechnology (PPGBiotec, CAPES and CNPq/SWE-sandwich scholarships) developing projects at Laboratório de Eletrotermofototerapia, Department of Physiotherapy, Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). The PhD sandwich project was developed in the Department of Biomaterials at the Radboud University, The Netherlands and Prof. John Jansen was the supervisor. Graduated in Biological Sciences at UNESP/Bauru. The CNPq granted him the Scientific Initiation scholarship during the graduation course. He developed projects related to Molecular Biophysics and Bioinformatics with emphasis on proteins, docking and molecular modelling.
