Biography
Dr Weiyi Liu is working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at Lincoln University. She completed her PhD study in 2020 and directly moved to a consequent programme “Multifunctional nano-coatings for sustainable agriculture application” as a postdoctoral research fellow funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment. Before the PhD study she worked as a research assistant in Chinese research organizations and was promoted to Soil and Fertiliser Technology team leader after six-year contributions. She has 13 publications including papers, books and book chapters, 3 conference abstracts, 8 academic rewards and 6 employment rewards during her career period. These works along with her PhD time extended her knowledge from soil, fertiliser and plant nutrition to physics, engineering and formulation science. Her current research is focusing on developing a new type of controlled-release fertilizer using electrospinning technique. The works include technique innovation, development and commercialization. To date the research topic has received 5 scholarship awards, 1 conference reward, 1 funding award and 17 media reports.
