Biography
Alessandra is a systemic designer and researcher with a Ph.D. in Management, Production and Design at the Politecnico di Torino (DAD - Department of Architecture and Design). Her research project takes the title of “Design, Food, and Health. The design of a communication system among the local actors of the agri-food and health sector".
In 2017, she graduated with honors in EcoDesign (now called Systemic Design) with a thesis that addresses the Application of Systemic Design to the agricultural scenario of Salento (Lecce, Italy), aimed at preventing the CoDiRO strain, caused by the spread of the pathogen X.Fastidiosa.
In 2014 she again achieved the Bachelor's Degree in Design and Visual Communication with honors at the Politecnico di Torino through a research and project path aimed at product innovation in the field of food preparation and packaging systems. The project, conducted in collaboration with the company Cuki Cofresco S.p.A, assists the application for the filing of a joint patent.
Within her professional career, Alessandra works on different projects applying the Systemic Design approach to the themes of food, health and sustainable living, with the aim of reducing and preventing the social and environmental costs of high impact food production and consumption models.
Finally, Alessandra is co-founder of Omnia Torino, a think tank and independent association of young people with the aim of contributing to the construction of a sustainable future for the Turin metropolitan area. Inside it, she is the representative for the Agri-food and Well-being area.
