Biography

Reserach interests:
My research interests include the genetics, genomics and physiology of microorganisms involved in biodegradation, biotransformation and biomineralization processes in natural environments and bioreactors, natural drug discovery and antimicrobial activities of materials/surfaces of different composition.
My actual research projects focus on the degradation of hydrocarbons and resistance to metals in Rhodococcus spp., the microbiology of caves and anitmicrobial activities of metal-based nanocoatings and ceramics.
