Biography

My name is Bálint Gellért, I am an internal medicine specialist and a gastroenterology fellow, working at the Department of Surgery, Transplantation and Gastroenterology, Semmelweis University, Budapest. During my career I have been working at internal medicine departments with gastroenterological profile and thus I have gained insight into everyday care of these patients. That involved regular in- and outpatient care of individuals presenting with broad spectrum of GI diseases and performing as much GI endoscopies as possible, including the learning of ERCP and EUS. I have also been teaching medical students about the theoretical basics of GI endoscopy. I am also a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Semmelweis University, where I am taking part in the PhD training program of the Centre for Translational Medicine. My thesis is about the role of endoscopic interventions in the management pancreatobiliary disorders. The manuscripts of my first projects have already been submitted or will be submitted shortly for publication.
