Biography

As a Spatial Data Science Team Lead at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, I lead a team of data scientists and engineers who develop computer vision and spatial data-based machine learning solutions for various urban challenges. Some of our projects include rooftop and road footprint detection on aerial and orthophoto imagery, object detection and classification, and aerial image restoration and enhancement using ESRGAN. I also contribute to data forecasting, visualization, and storytelling for water consumption and population trends using time series analysis and NLP techniques on Geocoding.

I have a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, where I published two papers on image segmentation and signal detection for breast cancer diagnosis and histopathology analysis. I have extensive experience with Python, C++ and Docker, as well as OpenCV, and ArcGIS Python tools. I am proficient in Scrum and Kanban methodologies, and have used TFS, AWS, and Github for configuration management. I have strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors, partners, and organizations. My primary goal is to utilize my job-related skills and be creatively involved in a system that contributes effectively to the growth of the organization.
