Natavan Huseynova is a Post-Graduate Researcher at Marmara University, Department of Political Science and International Relations, Istanbul, Turkey. She is also the Editorial Assistant of international peer-reviewed journal "New Middle Eastern Studies" based in the UK.
Prior to joining Marmara University in September 2022, she obtained her B.A. from Istanbul 29 Mayis University in June 2022.
Her M.A. research at Marmara University is a comparative study that focuses on the foreign policies of Japan and South Korea, specifically examining the success and shortcomings of their systematic "soft power" policies as a guide for soft power design and projection worldwide (Supervisor: Professor Çağdaş Üngör).
Huseynova's main areas of research are political philosophy; democratization; soft power and foreign policy in East Asia (China, Japan and South Korea); gender studies; ethnicity, nationalism and conflict resolution in the Post-Soviet space.
