Biography
Fryad Zeki Henari earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Sulaimaniyah University, Iraq, in 1972. He pursued graduate studies, obtaining an MSc from Strathclyde University in Glasgow and a PhD from Trinity College, University of Dublin, 1987.
After his doctoral studies, Henari joined the Photonics Group at Trinity College, where he researched nonlinear optics. In 1997, he transitioned to the University of Bahrain, and in 2005, he joined the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain.
Henari has made significant contributions to the field of nonlinear optics and green synthesis nanoparticles. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited more than 2200 times, resulting in an h-index of 24. His expertise is evident in his extensive supervision of PhD, MSc, and undergraduate research projects. Additionally, he serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Thin Films Science and Technology and is a reviewer for numerous international journals.
Henari's research interests span a wide range of topics, including:
Nonlinear Properties of Materials: Investigating the nonlinear optical properties of nanoparticles, polymers, and organic and inorganic materials using techniques such as z-scan and four-wave mixing.
Optical Devices and Medical Applications: Exploring the potential applications of nonlinear materials in optical switching devices and medical fields.
Laser Materials: Investigating the suitability of polymer materials as laser media.
Green Nanotechnology: Developing green methods for synthesizing nanoparticles from plant extracts and exploring their applications in antibacterial and anticancer activities.
Henari's contributions to the field of nonlinear optics and nanoparticles and his dedication to research are evident in his impressive academic achievements and ongoing contributions to the scientific community.
