Biography
Ahu ÖZYURT has worked in the media for 30 years as a reporter, anchor, radio programmer and editor-in-chief, in various outlets ranging from NTV, CNBC-E, Sputnik Radio, Turkey to Turkish Daily News, CNN TURK and Woman TV.
She is a member of Women in Foreign Policy Association in Turkey
She recently presented her PhD dissertation on Desert Storm/Desert Shield and Turkey's and then President Turgut Ozal's decision making process during the First Gulf War in 1991. to The Turkish National Defense University in Istanbul. (2023)
She is a graduate of Bogaziçi University with a B.A. on Administrative Sciences (1993) and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism with a M.S. in Video Journalism. (1998)
She has covered numerous international crises from the hotzones, like the Maidan demonstrations in Ukraine, elections in Iran, Operation Desert Shield in Baghdad. She was the first foreign reporter to film inside the US Embassy in Tehran that has been closed for more than 30 years. (2013)
Her coverage of Abdullah Ocalan's escape from Damascus to Rome gained her Yavuz Gokmen Special Award by the TV and Radio Correspondents Association in Turkey. (2000)
Ozyurt has been a regular contributor of CNN World Report for 10 years and she has covered the Obama campaign/presidency for CNN Turk and Milliyet Newspaper and wrote a book on it called "Obama, The Perfect Storm". Her last book is on international crises from a journalist's perspective called "Night Vision".

Since leaving media in 2021 Ahu OZYURT has worked as the Communications Director of Galatasaray Sports Club.
Currently she is the Communications and Outreach Coordinator of Suna'nin Kizlari, a girl-centered NGO launched by İpek Kirac.
