Biography

I am a passionate medical microbiologist with a strong academic background and extensive hands-on experience in microbiology, particularly in molecular diagnostics and infectious disease research. I attained M. Phil in Microbiology from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in July 2021. During this program, I gained extensive hands-on experience in performing real-time RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 over one and a half years. I currently serve as the Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at Monowara Sikder Medical College, Sariatpur, where I oversee academic and clinical microbiology activities.

Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at MARKS Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka, for 1 year and 7 months. Additionally, I held the position of co-editor within the Journal Committee, contributing to the selection, review, and publication processes, further strengthening my expertise in academic publishing.

I earned my MBBS degree in 2010 from Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College and completed my internship training in November 2011. Before pursuing my M. Phil, I gained valuable experience at Shahabuddin Medical College Hospital and Square Hospitals Ltd.

Recently, I completed a specialized training program on “Laboratory Techniques in Infectious Diseases” at the Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF), Dhaka. This training encompassed advanced methods such as pathogen identification, molecular diagnostics, genomics, phage detection, and infectious disease surveillance.
