CINCEL (Consorcio para el acceso a la información científica electrónica; Consortium for access to electronic scientific information) aims to facilitate access to scientific information in Chile, by creating a library of international scientific journals and other information resources for higher education institutions and legal entities dedicate to scientific and technological research; in addition to establishing general conditions for joint activities with third parties. The constitution of the ORCID-Chile Consortium, coordinated by CINCEL, seeks to extend the use of persistent identifiers in the Chilean CTCI community, providing a point of articulation of personal and institutional efforts that allows accelerating the curve of adoption and use of ORCID and other persistent identifiers.

ORCID-CA is the ORCID Canada Consortium administered by the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). We provide Canadian institutions and organizations with premium membership to ORCID at a reduced cost as well as access to dedicated local and bilingual community support services, a community of practice, technical support, and outreach materials. Globally, there are 23 local and regional consortia like ORCID-CA, including in Japan, Australia, Norway, Brazil, the US, South Africa, and more. ORCID-CA was established to support a Canadian ORCID community of practice, to enable the Canadian research community to take full advantage of the ORCID API in local institutional systems, and to promote the use of ORCID iDs by Canadian scholars.
